Meet the Memory Makers, Sam & Gwyn.
We are independent celebrants based in the east of England, writing and performing celebrations of life. Quite simply we also love what we do!
Sam
I am married, live in the heart of Norfolk, a globe trotting, sailing mother of two gorgeous girls, a cook and lover of proper Indian and Moroccan cuisine, a listener and a doer, and an owner of a stunning german short haired pointer, Connie,! I can be found wearing silk kitten heels, converse or DMs.
I have always had a real sense of the importance of gifting, recognizing others achievements and creating something special for people – every day people who do extraordinary things.
After completing an MBA and working in the health service and charity sector for many years, (and totally loving what I did) I started to realise that it was my love for people, tea and conversation, story telling and gatherings which celebrate others that really rocked my boat. So, with a little persuasion by friends, a big leap and celebrant training I co founded A Little Bird Told Me Told Ceremonies with my lovely friend and ex colleague Gwyn.
I believe that everyone deserves their unique back story and future to be shared and celebrated and for me its quite honestly an honour to be part of that as a memory maker.
Gwyn
My husband and I are owned by an amazing Border Terrier called Eddie. This means you can find us walking the coast, travelling all over the UK and enjoying the outdoors. We also love looking through antique and craft shops and considering the times gone by whilst visiting historic monuments and ruins. I am particularly interested in olde religions and how people around the world celebrate and honour life and love.
I’m a fan of theatre and Chinese dramas. I always try to find the light in life and have delivered comedy sessions. Toast Master experience has also helped me chair numerous conferences for healthcare charities and I enjoy seeing people make a difference.
I am a registered nurse with over thirty years experience in the NHS, private, voluntary and latterly charity sector. I’ve always wanted to offer a ‘Doula’ role for those experiencing either their or their loved one’s last journey. Time is precious and to spend quality time with loved ones, helping to make memories that truly celebrates life and experiences, no matter how big or small, is such a privilege.
I was fortunate to meet and work with the fabulous Sam, who also shared my love of helping people achieve their aims. ‘A Little Bird Told Me Ceremonies’ seemed such a natural step. Undertaking recognised celebrant training programmes, ensures that both Sam and I are offering you a high standard of quality and service which is unique to you.
